KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Emil Avram
Vice President-Business Development
Dominion Energy
Emil Avram is vice president–Business Development, Dominion Energy
Virginia and Contracted Generation.
He is responsible for regulated and merchant power generation
business development.
Avram joined Dominion Energy in 2001 as a project manager in Power
Generation. He was named manager-Power Generation Engineering in
2004 and senior business development manager in 2006. He became
director-Business Development in 2008, director-Engineering Services
in 2017, and vice president of Innovation in July 2018. He assumed his
current post in December 2019.
Prior to joining Dominion Energy, he was at United Technologies Corporation for 10 years, in various leadership roles in their power systems division.
He serves on the board of the Center for Innovative Technology, a non-profit corporation that accelerates the next generation of technology and technology companies in Virginia.
Avram received his bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his MBA from the University of Connecticut.
