This holiday season, give the gift you know every teacher will enjoy- a yearlong membership to VTEEA. Gift memberships make the perfect stocking stuffers for colleagues, student teachers, teaching assistants, administrators, and more. Just imagine the joy you’ll bring when you share the best with another educator!

The VTEEA Awards Program presents outstanding technology and engineering education teachers, programs, and professionals with awards and recognition for all of their hard work. Please take a moment to recognize an outstanding Technology and Engineering Educator in your division.


Nomination takes less than five minutes to complete and begin November 1 each year. Once you submit your nomination, the member or program will receive an email notification stating their nomination for a specific award along with the full application that must be completed by April 30th.

All funds raised through this year's GivingTuesday will go towards the VTEEA Undergraduate Scholarships and Grant Program.


Undergraduate Scholarships John Monroe Undergraduate Scholarship John Monroe has dedicated his professional career to teaching about technology and providing service to the field of Technology and Engineering Education. Mr. Monroe is a Distinguished Technology Educator (DTE), a former technology education teacher in Suffolk City Public Schools, a past VTEEA and ITEEA President, and Consultant/Adjunct Professor, Old Dominion University.  The scholarship is for a Virginia undergraduate student majoring in technology education teacher preparation. The $500.00 award is based upon interest in teaching, academic ability, financial need and faculty recommendations.

Joseph A. Schad Undergraduate Scholarship The Joseph A. Schad Undergraduate Scholarship, is given in memory of Professor Schad, the charter VTEEA President, and a Program Leader at Virginia Tech.  The scholarship is for a Virginia undergraduate student majoring in technology education teacher preparation. The $500.00 award is based upon interest in teaching, academic ability, financial need and faculty recommendations.


Grants VTEEA Classroom Grant The VTEEA Classroom Grant is designed to assist creative, innovative educators who are members of the VTEEA with the cost of materials and services that enhance classroom lessons. The scope of this grant does not include coursework or professional development opportunities. This grant was developed for teachers who display characteristics of excellent educators. The award is based upon interest in teaching, academic ability, financial need, and faculty recommendations. VTEEA Professional Development Grant The VTEEA Professional Development Grant is designed to assist educators who are members of the VTEEA with the cost of coursework or professional development opportunities. This grant was developed for teachers who display characteristics of excellent educators. The award is based upon interest in teaching, continuous learning, financial need, and faculty recommendations.
