NASA Spotlite Production Focus Group Application 2019-2020 SY

NASA eClips™ and ITEEA invite digital media and STEM teachers to participate in a study. As part of an evaluation study, these teachers will implement the NASA Spotlite Design Challenge with at least 20 students (ages 13 - 18) during the first semester of the 2019-2020 school year and share their observations about this implementation with an evaluator.

This group will run from September through December 2019 to implement and provide feedback on the NASA Spotlite design challenge.


Teachers within this study must commit to: -Pre and post surveys with the evaluator -100% Student pre and post survey completion -Following the design challenge implementation protocol

Two to three weeks is the estimated time for completing the design challenge. To compensate you for your time, you will be given a $300 stipend after successfully completing the challenge, gathering the required data, and completing all evaluation requirements.

STEM for Her has partnered with Slalom Consulting to provide high school girls an opportunity to meet female STEM professionals at their workplace and experience and learn about the day to day work life of technology consultants.

Join Slalom for a fun “escape room” style event! High school girls will experience how Slalom women use technology and consulting skills to help companies grow and thrive.

This program is interactive.  Learn more about:

Consulting: What consulting is and what consultant career paths and specializations are available.

Data & Analytics: How to use data visualization to answer an array of questions.

Technology Enablement: How teams work together to build apps and customer engagement tools.

Strategy: How to formulate a strategy and use problem solving approaches to work through a business challenge.

Experience Design (XD): How to bridge the gap between humans and technology when designing user interfaces.

Organizational Effectiveness (OE)/Delivery Leadership (DL): How to bring projects together to drive better collaboration, teamwork and overall results.

About Escape Rooms:

An escape room is an innovative way to bring problem solving, critical thinking, and team

building into learning new information. Teams will work together to complete a series of challenges to break out of the room before time runs out.
