Simple production project

A fellow colleague and friend, Greg Soresino at Woodbridge High School in Prince William County (SoresiGR@pwcs.edu) has his production class students create cheese boards to get a handle on some of the basics. Below is a student sample. According to Greg this particular student did not route the inside of the hole cut by the drill or round the corners. The students use the table router around the outside for a round over and hand router with a template and bearing for template routing. Greg generally uses a flat bottom box core bit in the hand router. The wood is then sealed with mineral oil from CVS and it is food safe. (Amazon sells gallons of this stuff.) Below is another project that Greg has personally made that would work well for your needs. I suggest reaching out to Greg for more specifics on the project. He loves this kind of stuff!
